Ancient Sculptures to Touch: Guided Tours (Not Only) for the Visually Impaired
Venus of Melos, Sophocles, Narcissus, Augustus, Venus de’ Medici—these authentic plaster casts of artworks from world-renowned museums and galleries also form part of a collection acquired after World War II from Brno professor Josef Della. Each exhibit is now accompanied by a miniature model designed for tactile perception and labels in Braille. The tours are intended for the blind and visually impaired, but those without visual impairments are also welcome to sign up. We will provide eye masks for the duration of the tour (available for loan). We recommend bringing an accompanying person who does not need to register and can provide assistance. If a participant registers alone, we offer assistance from the professional staff of the Teiresiás Center. Tours begin at 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m., and 10:30 p.m.; participants should meet at the faculty reception desk. Please register in advance at www.phil.muni.cz.
