Program

Workshop: The Villa and Its Ornaments

How does our perspective on architecture change when we pause to examine a small detail? The workshop “The Villa and Its Ornaments” invites participants to discover the hidden decorative elements of Arnold’s Villa and to learn about the history of the Černá Pole villa district. Participants will learn about the architect Josef Arnold and the development of local residential architecture, but above all about the ornaments and historical motifs that give the villa its character. The program includes creative work with architectural details—photographing ornaments, drawing inspiration from historical tiles, and sharing how small elements reveal the broader story of the place. At the end, everyone will create their own ornamental design, combining historical inspiration with their own imagination. / for children ages 12 and up / Bring: a cell phone for taking photos
