What data we process

1. Location data

The application may request access to the approximate or precise location of the device when using the map feature. This only happens when the user actively chooses the feature to display their current location on the map in the application.

Location data is used exclusively for the purpose of:

  • displaying the user’s current location on the map,
  • making orientation easier when visiting places as part of the Brno Museum Night event.

According to our information, location data is not stored on our servers or further shared for marketing or profiling purposes.

2. Data stored directly on the device

The application may locally store technical data on the device that is necessary for its operation, in particular:

  • a list of favourite places,
  • temporarily stored content or links needed for faster loading of the application.

This data is stored only on the user’s device and is used to improve the functionality of the application.

3. Technical and operational data

When using the application, standard technical data may be exchanged between the application and the server, for example:

  • IP address,
  • technical information about the device or network,
  • requests for loading content from the web interface.

This data may be processed by the hosting provider or server infrastructure provider for the purpose of ensuring the security, availability and proper functioning of the service.

For what purpose we use the data

We use personal data or technical data only to the extent necessary for:

  • ensuring the functionality of the application,
  • displaying the map and the user’s current location, if requested by the user,
  • displaying event content, information about places and accompanying materials,
  • ensuring the security, stability and technical operation of the application.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data mainly on the basis of the following legal grounds:

  • the user’s consent, in relation to access to the device’s location,
  • the controller’s legitimate interest in ensuring the security, operation and functionality of the application,
  • or, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations, if required by applicable legal regulations.

Sharing data with third parties

Data may be made available, to the necessary extent, to the following categories of recipients:

  • hosting and technical infrastructure providers,
  • providers of map or related technical services,
  • the operator of the web interface from which the application loads content,
  • public authorities, if required by law.

According to the available application settings, personal data is not sold to third parties.

External links and third-party content

The application may contain links to external websites, social networks or PDF documents. After clicking such a link, the user may be redirected outside the application. The processing of personal data on these external websites is governed by the privacy policies of their respective operators.

We recommend reviewing these policies separately.

Cookies

The mobile application itself generally does not use cookies in the same way as websites do.

However, if the user opens an external website through the application, those external websites may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own rules.

How long we keep the data

We keep data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above:

  • location data only for the time necessary to use the feature in the application,
  • locally stored data until the user deletes it, uninstalls the application or it is overwritten,
  • technical operational logs for the period necessary to ensure the security and operation of the service.

The specific retention period may vary depending on the type of data and the controller’s legal obligations.

Your rights

In accordance with applicable personal data protection regulations, you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data,
  • request correction of inaccurate data,
  • request deletion of personal data, where legally possible,
  • request restriction of processing,
  • object to processing,
  • withdraw consent to processing, where processing is based on consent,
  • file a complaint with the supervisory authority.

In the Czech Republic, the supervisory authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection.

How you can manage permissions

You can change or remove access to location at any time in the settings of your mobile device. If you do not allow access to location, the application will continue to work, but some map features may not be fully available.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the processed data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at the designated address or within the application.
